Hi! Here is Roman from the Android Opal development team! We ship new version every Friday and from now on I will be sharing what is that we baked for you!
We strive for perfection and we want a smooth experience for you. We are still catching-up on the iOS version a bit. We are adding new features, improvements and fixes with every release and we would love to know about your experience with them. If you experience issues and something is not working for you, please reach out. We want to hear your feedback, your suggestions, we want to know about how do you use the app, what do you miss, what do you like etc.
Coming in 4.3.0 (tomorrow)
- The block screen’s Unblock button now shows how many unblocks you have left.
- Blocking is more reliable — Strict rules and Open Limits hold exactly as you set them.
- In past, the final unblock from Open Limit put the blocking in a broken state, this is fixed now.
- Visual polish and bug fixes.
In next releases:
- Improved experience for new users:
- smoother onboarding with better explanation of permissions
- block screens that will help new users to onboard by providing tips and intro to the app
- Fixing a bug that prevents blocking of a freshly installed app
- Referral improvements, mainly you will notice new Redeem code option in Settings, so you will be able to type redeem code manually. Getting a referral code from a friend grants you 30 days of Opal PRO! So we want to make sure there is an easy way to do it.
We will also add the rewards ladder! - And much more… well, I can’t reveal everything!

- Gems (that iPhone users like so much) are coming to Android during summer.
We are constantly monitoring reviews and our support inbox and we investigte every report of the app not working as expected.
We hope you enjoy Opal! Feel free to send me DM if you have any question regarding Opal for Android.
With wish of good focus,
