The sleep assist in V4 is just awful. It won’t allow me to unblock anything even though I set it to allow 4 unblocks. It’s also completely locked up my Opera browser and I can’t search anything.
Also, I don’t like the block screens stopped tell you which block is currently running.
Hi @Kayleigh_Sheehy thanks for the detailed feedback on all three of these.
Unblocks not working during Sleep: This was a real bug that’s now fixed in the latest update (4.2.1, released June 24). When Sleep rules were migrated from V3 to V4, they landed in “block all except” mode, and in that mode, tapping “Use app” on the block screen was silently doing nothing, spending one of your unblock credits without actually letting the app open. That’s exactly why it looked like you had 4 unblocks set but nothing would go through. Updating to 4.2.1 resolves this.
Opera being blocked by Sleep Assist: Same root cause. Because Sleep Assist was running in the broken “block all except” mode, Opera was getting caught in the category-level block and the unblock mechanism couldn’t clear it. The 4.2.1 fix addresses this as well and after updating, your Sleep allowlist should correctly permit the apps you’ve set as always-allowed.
Block screen not showing which rule is active: This is a change in how V4’s block screen is designed it now shows your unblock budget (“Unblock (2/4 left)”) and a daily blocked-app count, but it no longer displays the specific rule name. I’ve noted this as feedback for the team. There’s no workaround right now, but it’s something we can pass along as a feature request.
The most important step is updating to 4.2.1. that should resolve both the Sleep unblock issue and Opera. Let me know if you’re still seeing problems after updating and we can dig further.
