New gems don’t let me unlock

I quite like the feature of unlocking the gems by tapping on them, but in the past couple of days I’ve gotten 3 gems. Each time I get a notification about it, I go in the app and it’s already unlocked. I’m wondering if this will be fixed or is just a bug, has anyone else experienced this?
Tapping on the gems to unlock makes the experience rewarding to me so this was disappointing.

When I first started this focus app, Opal. The thing that kept me persistent to continue, was the satisfaction to the sound of opening my own achievements, the opals. I felt so accomplished, that this helped motivate myself to strive to save hours on my ipad. *but it says phone for all so…

That was until, I randomly hop on, and all of a sudden I have a new gem. No satisfaction to unlock. No tap. No announcement. Just the gems.

Please change this. I genuinely love this app, but this mishap is not it.

Thank you, and please change this again.

Kind regards,
Your user

Hey @Peds ,

Happy to help! Please email support@opal.so and we’d be happy to troubleshoot further, as we’re investigating an issue where some users are unable to crack open their Gems and we’ll need more information for our escalation report.

Thank you kindly,
Team Opal

Hey, I’m having this issue as well. The last five gems or so have just appeared as unlocked, but I haven’t been given the opportunity to “break them open”.

Hi @Ciestupinan Thanks for flagging this. What’s happening is a sync issue. When gems are earned, their state syncs with the server. If the server already has those gems recorded as revealed, the app applies that server state as-is, This means if you earned several in quick succession or had a sync catch up, they’d all skip the reveal step.

This is a known gap that hasn’t been addressed yet. I’ll make sure it’s logged. For now there’s unfortunately no workaround, the gems are still earned and counted, you just miss the reveal moment, which I know is part of the experience.
