Impossible to change « 0 daily unblocks allowed » rule in new app version

Hi, I use the app in French and English is my second language so I’ll do my best to explain the issue in the best way I can. Please bear with me

I have the free version of Opal! I have a rule for instagram, an app block, with 0 unblocks allowed per day, 7 days a week. A complete block out

In the new version of the app, I am strictly unable to change the amount of unblocks. Since I have 0 allowed daily, the app sees this as a signal I’ve « used up all my unblocks for the day. But as it turns out, I never NOT have used all my unblocks. Which means I NEVER have the opportunity to change the numbers of unblocks I want, nor delete the « rule ». I am strictly stuck with this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  there is no undoing.

I’m assuming this isn’t intended to be impossible to change at all

Thanks

I was using Opal for almost two years and never had any problems. The second they did this with the new update I deleted it. Sorry, Opal, but why all of a sudden are we making features that used to be free paid now?

Hi @SerenaHoneyProcess
Good news: this is a known bug that’s already fixed. When an open limit rule was set to 0 unblocks allowed, the app incorrectly treated it as permanently locked, even with no usage. So you ended up stuck in exactly the situation you described.

Update to the latest version and you’ll be able to edit or delete the rule normally again. If after updating it’s still not letting you through, reach out via the app (Profile > Settings > Chat with Support) and we can help sort it out.

I pay for the pro version and I also get zero breaks now. There is no option for breaks at all.

The breaks were the reason I pay for the app. I need social media for work but dont want access to it all the time. The breaks allowed me to use the apps for a short period of time and then get back to my day. If the break option isnt reinstalled I wont continue paying for the app. Ill have to find something else.

@dssd1948 If you want to share what specifically you lost access to, reach out through the app (Profile > Settings > Chat with Support), we’re happy to look at your situation directly.

Hi @Callmealyxenby

Breaks are still there in V4, they’ve been renamed “Unblocks”

They work the same way Breaks used to work:
When an app is blocked and you want to open it, go on Opal, click “Unblock Apps”, select the app you want to Unlock, go through the waiting room, pick how long you want, and the app will be unblocked. It will relock automatically when the time is up.

If you’re not seeing that option, it’s likely your rule is set to not allow unblocks. You can check by going into the rule and looking at whether unblocks are enabled.

If you need help adjusting it, reach out through the app (Profile > Settings > Chat with Support).
