In addition to general bugginess/glitches/slow response, particularly during unblocks, after the latest major update (which appears to have already been fed back and being worked on so I will be patient). I have recently noticed a new specific error that has appeared in the last few days.
when unblocking a session or app, I get the following error as an opal Apple notification:
The apps still seem to unblock but might be contributing to the lagging/buffering occurring.
On a side bit of feedback - when the major update occurred my partner was out on a night out and when leaving to go home and found all the apps on her phone blocked including Uber, maps etc. And with a new unfamiliar UI was unable to unblock anything in the way she previously could leaving her in a potentially precarious situation. Luckily a friend was able to assist and book a ride home on their phone and no harm - but just to be mindful of potential safety implications with major updates in future.
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble on this one! This “Monitor failed to start” error has been resolved in the newest version of the app. Please update when able here:
Otherwise, sorry to hear about your partner’s trouble! To clarify, we’ve made our Emergency Pass feature far more accessible to assist anyone who is stuck. On that note, if you’re stuck in a Schedule, Time Limit, and/or Open Limit that does not allow breaks or resets and need emergency access to apps or websites, please use your Emergency Pass. To access your Emergency Pass while in a Schedule, Time Limit, or Open Limit, take these steps:
Tap on “Home”
Tap on “Profile” (accessible from the top right corner)
Tap on “Settings” (accessible from the top right corner)
Scroll down and tap on “Emergency Pass”
Tap and hold on “Hold to Redeem”
Once you’ve enabled your Emergency Pass, all apps and websites will be unblocked for one hour. If your Rules are programmed to reinitiate, you must edit or delete them (as needed) immediately after using your Emergency Pass. Your Emergency Pass is available once per week.
