Thank you for continuing to send feedback. We’re still moving fast on it. Please update your Opal app to get the latest fixes. Here’s what’s shipped since last week, with the version it landed in, and what we’re working on next, in priority order.
Coming in 4.4 (coming tomorrow)
- Session is back as a Rule, with set durations and an Always On option. Go to My Apps => Add Rule => Session.
- Vacation mode: you can pause a Rule for a certain number of days. When you go to delete a Rule, Opal now suggests pausing it first, so you don’t lose it by accident
- A new Adult Websites commitment in Hard Mode
- Rules that end the next day are now labeled clearly
- Signing in brings your streak and stats over from an anonymous account, so you keep your progress
- More reliable setup for devices coming from the old version
New in 4.3.2 (available now)
- Onboarding now lets you pick a whole category of apps to block, not just one app at a time
- Pausing a Rule no longer risks losing it. Pause is now non-destructive
- Pro access restores more reliably at launch, tied to your saved account
- Fixed an announcement card whose button could sit off screen
- The waiting room now clears itself after you leave the app and come back
- No more duplicate gemstone unlock celebrations
- More reliable App Blocking under the hood
New in 4.3.1 (available now, this is the update we promised last week)
- Time limits can now be reset, if you allowed it
- A new Top Today card on the home screen shows your most-used apps
- Improved Break Live Activity
- More reliable Streaks
- Widget gemstone keeps its full color in tint modes
- Digital detox timers now show days after 24 hours
- Improved App Blocking reliability
- Improved account protection: we now store the account creation date so we can better avoid account duplication and help people get back into the right account
Also fixed in recent updates

- Increasing wait time in the waiting room is still available. You can find it in Settings → Waiting Room → Hard
- Your daily screen time, broken down app by app, is available by tapping “Focus” on the home page
What’s next, in priority order
- Making “Sign in with your last method” work, so reinstalling never loses your data. We keep improving syncing and are still on it
- Fixing referrals
- Keeping your highest streak across major updates
- Bringing back Session / Always On as a Rule
- Showing Focus Hours and Streaks on the home screen
- Clearer onboarding so it’s obvious what Opal does, what a Rule is, and how unblocking works. Category picking in 4.3.2 is a first step
We read everything you send us, and it shaped this list directly. Thank you.
