I am trying to limit my use of Safari on my iPad, but I am running into a problem: I reach the end of my budgeted time but Safari stays on! The other app I’m limiting gets blocked, so it’s 50% working, but I need the other 50%. Is this a bug? Please help.
Hey there,
Happy to help.
We’ve received reports from customers saying that their Time Limits are not working as intended, and specifically that they are not applying after the customers limit was exceeded. As such, we escalated this issue to engineering, who’ve determined this could be one of two bugs. To help us determine which you are impacted by, please do the following:
- update to the newest version of the app here: ‎Opal: Screen Time Control App - App Store
- once you’ve updated, please delete the problematic Time Limit and recreate it using the steps here: How to use Time Limits - Opal Help Center
- if you’ve recreated the Time Limit and the problem persists, please let us know exactly what occurs:
- The Time Limit never initiates OR:
- The Time Limit will initiate once, and after the first reset of the day, it does not reinitiate
Please let us know which variant is impacting you. Additionally, it would be enormously helpful if you contacted our Support team via the app, rather than via our Community Forums. That way, we can obtain your user logs and escalate those to engineering. To contact support in app, please navigate to your Settings > Chat with Support and ask to speak to a human.
Thanks for your patience,
Team Opal
