Hi Opal team,
I’d like to suggest a feature for short, unavoidable interruptions during a session.
Most of my premature “End Session” moments happen the same way: I’m researching something, Google sends me to a link that lives inside a blocked app (Reddit especially), and I need maybe 30 seconds to read it. Today my only option is a break, which is either too short to be useful or far longer than I need, plus the friction of opening the app and waiting. When this happens several times in one session, I end up ending the session entirely.
What I’d love is a “Just Checking” option: a very short unlock, under a minute, that automatically snaps back to the blocked state when time is up.
A few details that I think would keep it from becoming a loophole:
- A short wait before it opens, around 5 to 10 seconds. Long enough to stay intentional, short enough that it doesn’t defeat the purpose the way the current break flow does.
- A cap on how many times it can be used per session.
The goal is to keep me inside my session instead of breaking it, which I think is the outcome we both want.
Thanks,
Waad
